Apple Music is one of Nigeria’s most used music streaming services. Recently we had to put our music experience on hold because of the dollar transaction restriction (Sad times)
We know our God doesn’t flop as we always find a way around any issue because naija no dey carry last.
Our saving grace has been joining an Apple Music family plan on SplitCash. However, after joining a new family, your music might not be playing just yet.
Don't worry, I've got you covered! In this step-by-step guide, I'll show you how to get your music playing after joining a new Apple Family.
1. Confirm You’re a Member of an Apple Family
First, confirm you are a member of the Apple family else it will be impossible to start playing and downloading music as you like.
HOW: Settings app > Your name > Family Sharing
If you can see a screen similar to the one below with your name in it you are good:
2. Check Your App Store Region
Confirm you are in the same region as the Apple family you joined. All members of an Apple family must be in the same region to share subscriptions.
HOW: Settings app > Your name > Payment & Shipping
3. Change Your App Store Region (If Needed)
If you’re in a different Region, you will need to change it and you can do that from the App Store app.
HOW: App Store > Your Profile > Your Name > Country/Region > Change Country or Region
Note: To change your region you must first cancel any active subscription
4. Sign Out of Media Purchases and Sign Back In
Finally, Signing out of Apple Media Purchases and signing back in is necessary for the changes to take effect and for your shared Apple Music plan to work correctly.
HOW: Settings app > Your name > Media & Purchases > Sign Out
Once you've completed these steps, you should be able to enjoy all the benefits of being a part of an Apple Music family, including sharing playlists and enjoying access to all the music you love.
